Terms & Conditions
1. Cancellations / Missed Appointments / Unable to Park
We understand that things happen and sometimes changes need to be made. If you need to change or cancel your scheduled appointment, please provide at least 24 hours notice. If notice of cancellation is received less than 24 hours before the appointed time, a cancellation fee of 100% will be payable.
If an appointment is missed without notice (you are not at the house at the scheduled appointment time), we will wait for a maximum of ten minutes for you to return, and a cancellation fee of 100% will be payable.
Clients must be able to provide a legal parking space immediately in front/behind their house with access to a plug socket. The space must be suitable for a van six meters in length. Failure to provide such parking space will result in the groom not taking place and a cancellation fee of 100% will be payable.
2. The care of your dog
We will take every care of your dog, ensuring their safety and wellbeing are our number one priority. In the event of your dog becoming distressed, you will be informed, and efforts taken to improve the experience for your dog. For example, you may be asked to come into the van to provide your dog with reassurance and/or treats/distractions whilst the groom is completed.
In the event that your dog is distressed to such an extent that they are snapping/growling or otherwise making the groom unsafe for themselves and/or the groomer AND reasonable effort has been made to improve their experience within the original scheduled time slot, the groom may not be completed and 100% fee is still payable. In this event, we will discuss recommended next steps on a case-by-case basis.
We will examine your dog for any irregular lumps or infections during the groom and if anything is found you will be informed and advised to consult your vet. Please note all dogs should be free of parasites, fleas, ticks and worms. If these are found on your dog, you will be informed and advised to seek veterinary attention.
3. Insurance
We have full Public Liability Insurance. Full details are available on request.
4. De-matting
We will not brush out matting as it will cause pain or discomfort to your dog. Matted fur or hair may result in us having to clip close to the skin. Removing a heavily matted coat increases the risk of nicks, cuts, or abrasions due to warts, moles, or skin folds that are not visible beneath the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture allowing mould, fungus, or bacteria to grow, revealing skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming process. After effects of de-matting procedures can include itchiness, skin redness, irritations or abrasions, including those self -inflicted, which may require veterinary attention. DogSmart Mobile Grooming will not be liable for any adverse reactions caused by the matting or de-matting procedure.
5. Photography and Marketing
Your dog may be photographed during their groom. These images, along with the dog’s name, may be used on our social media or for other advertising. Please inform us if you prefer for your pets images not to be used in this way.
6. Data Protection
Client data will be treated in accordance with current GDPR Regulations and will not be shared with third parties.
